Thurgood Marshall College Fund president to speak at Howard University

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) president & CEO will serve as a featured guest at Howard University (Howard) for a conversation about how historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) drive national policy and innovation. 

Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO at TMCF, will join other featured guests such as Dr. Denise Jones Gregory, interim president of Jackson State University; Lodriguez Murray, senior vice president of public policy and government affairs at UNCF; Dr. Omari H. Swinton, chair of the department of economics at Howard; William Godwin, doctoral student in higher education leadership and policy studies; and Dr. Kayla C. Elliott, director of workforce policy at The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.    

“It’s an honor to speak about the impact we strive to make every day for our students and institutions,” Dr. Williams said. “I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the advancement HBCUs make in access, research, workforce development and democracy.” 

“Reimagining Public Education: Part II: Policy, Power, and the Future of HBCUs” is set for Feb. 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in room 221 at Douglass Hall on Howard’s campus. The event is presented by the Gwendolyn S. & Colbert I. King Endowed Chair in Public Policy.
