Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) applauds President Trump’s intent to nominate, friend to TMCF and the Black College Community, Dr. Samuel H. Clovis, Jr., to serve as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Research, Education, and Economics.

Wells Fargo makes $115,000 investment for The Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s Teacher Quality And Retention Program Summer Institute (TQRP) in Houston, TX to better equip Fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for, enter and succeed in competitive and challenging teaching environments.

“Shortly after the election results were announced, Dr. Clovis began meeting with TMCF to develop an action plan to deepen the USDA’s relationship with our agriculture schools in order to help them build capacity, infrastructure and career paths for their graduates,” said Johnny Taylor Jr., President & CEO of TMCF.

Taylor Jr., President & CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, told The Chronicle that he was impressed that the administration was considering Mr. Carter. “That is a highly unusual candidate,” he said. “If they’re considering someone like that, good for them. That means they’re doing their homework.”

HBCU agriculture schools remain a centerpiece of black college value to the nation and to the world.

TM2 Executive Search, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, successfully supported the Benedict College Board of Trustees in identifying and selecting Dr. Roslyn Artis to become the 14th President of Benedict College.

The Thurgood Marshall Fund (TMCF) received $500,000 from Lowe’s for the TMCF | Lowe’s Gap Scholarship, which has provided over $1.2 million to graduating seniors at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) since 2012.
