The Thurgood Marshall College Fund mourns the passing of Cecilia “Cissy” Suyat Marshall. She worked for the NAACP for a number of years and was the wife of the nation’s first Black Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, a relentless advocate for equal justice. We express our condolences and send prayers to the entire Marshall family.

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund mourns the passing of Rev. Calvin O. Butts III, an impactful leader and prominent faith leader who led Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem. He was also a former TMCF board member and college president. He was 73 years old when he died recently.
