The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) joins the nation’s 101 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to honor and remember Dr. George Cooper as he is laid to rest on Monday.
TMCF President & CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. participated in a Wells Fargo Panel Discussion held July 21, 2015 in conjunction with the Wells Fargo Get College Ready program.
Today, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) participated in Hillary Clinton’s first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) stakeholder policy call to discuss her 10-year College Affordability Plan, The New College Compact, announced TMCF President & CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. TMCF commends Clinton for making higher education a campaign priority.
The awards are presented annually to salute outstanding achievements of those who are committed to making positive contributions that strengthen the African-American diaspora. Teen entrepreneur Tori Turner and young filmmaker Aaron Johnson are recognized alongside this lineup with the second McDonald’s 365Black Community Choice Youth Award, facilitated by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
TMCF launched the application process for the inaugural year of the Apple HBCU Scholars Program, the largest and most comprehensive scholarship effort in HBCU history. Thirty successful undergraduate student recipients will be awarded sizable scholarships and receive year-long mentorships by Apple employees to include a paid internship at Apple headquarters next summer.
