Thurgood Marshall College Fund receives $25,000 through the LKQ Cares Holiday Vote

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) was one of the philanthropic organizations selected by LKQ for its fourth-annual LKQ Cares Holiday Vote. The LKQ Community Foundation  pledged a total of $1 million to support the organizations it selects. TMCF received $25,000 through the initiative.

“We’re honored and appreciative of this selection from LKQ,” Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of TMCF, said. “Their support provides great impact in our efforts to prepare the next generation of workforce talent for careers at companies such as LKQ.” 

As part of the program, 20 organizations received an allocation from LKQ’s total pledge of $1 million. Allocations were determined by the LKQ global team.

LKQ said via social media that the company is excited to support inspiring and impactful organizations that improve communities and make a positive change across the globe.

Hampton University and Hinds Community College at Utica join the Thurgood Marshall College Fund as member schools

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has added Hampton University (Hampton) in Virginia and Hinds Community College at Utica (Hinds CC) in Mississippi to its member schools, now totaling 57 institutions consisting of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), predominantly Black institutions (PBIs) and historically Black community colleges (HBCCs).

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Seeking, Observing and Achieving Results (SOAR) program will conduct 10 week-long residential programs this summer on the campuses of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and historically Black community colleges (HBCCs) in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
