Thurgood Marshall College Fund president received the USMCA Honorable Justice Thurgood Marshall Legacy Award

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) President & CEO Dr. Harry L. Williams will receive the U.S. Minority Contractors Association (USMCA) Honorable Justice Thurgood Marshall Legacy Award during its 33rd annual banquet on Nov. 14 in Illinois. Dr. Williams will speak at the banquet.

USMCA is honoring Dr. Williams for transforming TMCF under his visionary leadership, achieving milestones such as:

  • A 250% revenue expansion that has fueled the growth and sustainability of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
  • Strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies such as The Boeing Company, Visa and Wells Fargo, positioning TMCF as a premier source for diverse talent.
  • that has resulted in significant national victories for the HBCU community, earning TMCF respect on both sides of the aisle in Congress and the White House.

“The USMCA represents minority-owned and operated businesses throughout the country and  I’m humbled to receive this recognition,” Dr. Williams said. “Their mission aligns with ours and we applaud the important work USMCA is doing.”

Hampton University and Hinds Community College at Utica join the Thurgood Marshall College Fund as member schools

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has added Hampton University (Hampton) in Virginia and Hinds Community College at Utica (Hinds CC) in Mississippi to its member schools, now totaling 57 institutions consisting of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), predominantly Black institutions (PBIs) and historically Black community colleges (HBCCs).

Thurgood Marshall College Fund SOAR program to host 10 residential programs this summer

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Seeking, Observing and Achieving Results (SOAR) program will conduct 10 week-long residential programs this summer on the campuses of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and historically Black community colleges (HBCCs) in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia. 

Thurgood Marshall College Fund Board of Directors add two new member schools

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Board of Directors met April 29-30 in Montgomery, Alabama on the Alabama State University campus and completed several action items, including the addition of two new member schools and the appointment of a new board director.
