Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) president & CEO was recently selected for the latest cohort of Thrive Leaders Network fellows.
Dr. Harry L. Williams joins 15 other Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) higher education and postsecondary nonprofit executives from across the country in the cohort. The Kresge Foundation launched the initiative three years ago to support the leadership and well-being of leaders of color. The effort is jointly funded by The Kresge Foundation’s Education Program and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
“I’m humbled to be among this distinguished group of executives and look forward to continuing my professional development to best serve TMCF, our students and member schools,” Dr. Williams said.
The program provides stipends to support the leadership and well-being of cohort members for one year.
Thrive Leaders Network fellows can use their stipends in ways they determine best to support their leadership and well-being and they participate in a cohort-based learning series to build community, strengthen skills and help navigate the challenges and opportunities of leading.
The cohort also has opportunities such as virtual programming, in-person gatherings and communications tools to foster community and sharing of best practices. Funds can also be used to pay for travel to professional development conferences and training sessions.
Dr. Williams is now one of 60 total members of the network.
