Thurgood Marshall College Fund board chair talked about the Federal Reserve on MSNBC’s Morning Joe

The chair of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Board of Directors made an appearance on MS Now’s Morning Joe recently to discuss how investors are awaiting the Federal Reserve’s final interest rate decision of the year.

Racquel Oden, chair of the TMCF board and HSBC Head of Wealth, Premier & Global Private Banking, US, recently appeared on the show with hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

Oden correctly predicted a rate cut by the Federal Reserve and posed the question of whether cuts will continue in 2026. She also discussed the possible implications of naming a new Fed chair in 2026, which could help predict rates for next year. She also discussed the potential effect of artificial intelligence on the jobs market. 


The TMCF board chair also recently appeared on Bloomberg TV with Tim Stenovec and Carol Massar to discuss the HSBC report titled “The Giving Shift” on GivingTuesday. During that segment, Oden discussed how philanthropy differs between men and women, as well as the confidence women possess in investing and obtaining wealth by generation and race.
