TMCF | JPMorgan Chase Hardship Scholarship

Scholarship Overview:

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and JPMorgan Chase are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include 57 publicly-supported historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), historically Black community colleges (HBCCs), publicly Black institutions (PBIs), medical and law schools.  One hundred twenty-one (121) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship of up to $2,500 for the 2025-2026 academic school year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be disbursed as a single payment during Fall 2025 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate (2nd semester) freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at a TMCF member school during the 2025-2026 academic year
  • Open to all majors
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher 
  • Must have the 2025-2026 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college at the time of selection 
  • Must be able to demonstrate a financial need 
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

This application opens June 2, 2025, and closes December 1, 2025 at 11:59 pm EST (Eastern Time) or until funds are exhausted.

Additional Information:

The eligible total amount will be funded in one disbursement for the 2025-2026 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract
