Scholarship Overview:
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Altria are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include 57 publicly-supported historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), historically Black community colleges (HBCCs), publicly Black institutions (PBIs), medical and law schools. Fourteen (14) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship of up to $5,000 for the 2025-2026 academic school year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be disbursed as a single payment during Fall 2025 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at a TMCF member-school during the 2025-2026 academic school year
- Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Must have the 2025-2026 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection
- Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
- Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

Additional Information:
The eligible total amount will be funded in one disbursement for the 2025-2026 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.
