2026-2027 TMCF | Lowe’s Gap Scholarship

Scholarship Overview:

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Lowe’s are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and predominantly Black institutions (PBIs). Twenty five (25) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship of up to $5,000 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be disbursed as a single payment during fall 2026 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at a TMCF member school during the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher
  • Majoring in business or STEM (science, technology, engineering, math)
  • Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

  • What core principles or values do you believe are most essential to creating positive change in your community and future career field? How do you plan to embody them in both your educational pursuits and interactions with others?

This application opens June 1, 2026, and closes December 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time).

Additional Information:

The eligible total amount will be funded in two disbursements for the 2026-2027 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.
