Scholarship Overview:
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Keith R. Johnson Memorial are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include 57 publicly supported historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), historically Black community colleges (HBCCs), predominantly Black institutions (PBIs), medical and law schools. Four (4) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship of up to $10,625 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in two installments: one during the fall 2026 semester and the second during the spring 2027 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student or at least part-time as a graduate/professional student at a TMCF member school during the 2026-2027 academic year
- Current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
- Must have the 2026-2027 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection
- Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
- Open to U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551, and international students

Additional Information:
The eligible total amount will be funded in two disbursements for the 2026-2027 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.
