2026-2027 TMCF | James B. Beam Distilling Co. Scholarship

Scholarship Overview:

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and James B. Beam Distilling Co. are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Five (5) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship of up to $7,000 for the 2026-2027 academic year, which may be renewable up to two years if recipients continue to meet eligibility requirements. The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in one installment during the fall 2026 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a full-time enrolled undergraduate junior at one of the following HBCUs during the 2026-2027 academic year:
    • Kentucky State University
    • Tuskegee University
  • Open to majors:
    • Agricultural science
    • Agricultural business
    • Food and nutritional science 
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have the 2025-2026 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection
  • Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
