Scholarship Overview:
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Re:wild are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include 57 publicly supported historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), historically Black community colleges (HBCCs), predominantly Black institutions (PBIs), medical and law schools. Fourteen (14) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship of up to $50,000 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in two installments: one during the fall 2026 semester and the second during the spring 2027 semester, which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition, usual fees, academic research and related travel expenses associated with degree completion.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled full-time or part-time as a graduate student at an HBCU during the 2026-2027 academic year
- Open to the following majors:
- Agriculture (non-animal)
- Conservation (terrestrial, wildlife, marine, freshwater)
- Civil and environmental engineering
- Environmental management,
- Environmental law and justice
- Plant, soil and/or atmospheric sciences
- Public health (e.g., planetary health, one health, eco health)*
- Urban planning and environmental policy
- And related fields
- Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

Additional Information:
