2026-2027 TMCF | Alper Skyland Scholarship

Scholarship Overview:

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the Alper Skyland Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Eight (8) scholars will be selected to receive a renewable scholarship of up to $6,375 for the 2026-2027 academic year, for a total of up to $19,125 over three years (sophomore, junior, senior). The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in one installment during the fall 2026 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate sophomore at any HBCU during the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Open to the following majors:
    • History
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher
  • Must have the 2026-2027 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection
  • Must be able to demonstrate financial need
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
