The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Truist have partnered to expand access, opportunity and career pathways for students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
The partnership leverages scholarship funding, leadership development and experiential learning to support student success and strengthen the pipeline of diverse talent entering the financial services industry.
Formally known as Truist Ascent: Campus-to-Career Immersion Program, this multi-phase experiential program is designed to introduce students to Truist’s brand, culture and career opportunities. Combining campus-based engagement with a competitive summer immersion experience, the program provides early exposure to the financial services industry, hands-on learning and direct access to industry professionals.
This year 15 HBCU student participants will strengthen their financial knowledge and professional skills, explore Truist’s business areas and career pathways, and learn how the company supports its clients and communities.
Through interactive workshops, team-based challenges, structured mentorship and networking, the selected students will build relationships with Truist leaders and other industry professionals. Students who successfully complete the campus training may be selected for the summer immersion experience. The program will culminate in face-to-face interviews with Truist hiring managers and the opportunity to be considered for a Truist internship in the summer of 2027.
“Our partnership with Truist has produced a phenomenal opportunity for our talented and deserving students,” Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of TMCF, said. “It’s rewarding to connect our students with our corporate partners to strengthen the workforce.”
