Historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have played a foundational role in shaping American leadership and professional excellence since 1837. Last summer that legacy reached a major digital milestone with the launch of eHBCU, a groundbreaking online consortium uniting six prominent HBCUs through a single, streamlined portal. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund is a funding partner of eHBCU.
Participating institutions include Delaware State University, Alabama State University, Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design, Southern University and A&M College, Southern University at New Orleans and Southern University at Shreveport.
To celebrate this collaboration, eHBCU will host its inaugural virtual open house on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. ET. This event marks the first time all six founding institutions will co-host a joint prospective student event. Register is free.
Attendees will have direct access to 15-minute dedicated breakout rooms for each institution, offering real-time interactions with admissions teams, program directors and academic faculty.
eHBCU is designed specifically for working adults, parents, career changers and remote learners and allows prospective students to apply to online degree, certificate and career preparation programs across six campuses via one centralized application — eliminating the need to relocate or navigate multiple admissions processes.
To ensure long-term student success, eHBCU pairs every applicant with a dedicated success coach. These advisors walk students through degree options, build tailored academic plans, assistance with document gathering, and guide candidates through enrollment.
