Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s The Pitch a success on campus

April 7, 2026

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) hosted its successful signature pitch competition on the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T) campus with 100 of its students recently.

During the event, students transformed ideas into prototypes. They gained practical experience in startup simulations and product development by solving complex, real-world industry challenges.

This iteration of the event took place at NC A&T and student volunteers owned the experience.

“It’s only natural they chose Aggie Land to set the bar,” Dorian Jackson, a junior marketing major at NC A&T, said in the opening session. “For the next three days, we will exceed expectations and take this program to the next level.”

Participants honed their business and innovation skills during collaborative workshops and direct product development. This culminated in The Pitch, a competitive finale where scholarships and prizes were at stake.

“We’re thankful to the NC A&T community for allowing us to host The Pitch on their beautiful and historic campus,” Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of TMCF, said. “The students were incredible, producing innovative ideas while showing their creative and technical abilities.”

Building on the momentum from The Pitch at NC A&T, TMCF plans to continue fostering a pipeline of diverse talent ready to lead in the global marketplace. By providing these platforms, TMCF ensures that HBCU students are not just participants in the innovation economy, but the architects of its future.
