Yard Ambassador Program 2026-2027

Overview

Are you a campus leader with a passion for creating buzz and connecting your peers to life-changing opportunities? The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Yard Ambassador Program is looking for highly motivated, outgoing students to serve as the face of the TMCF brand. As a yard ambassador, you won't just represent an organization—you’ll be the bridge between your campus community and a world of professional possibilities, using your creativity to generate excitement and awareness among students and faculty alike.

An ideal Yard Ambassador 

  • Enrolled in a full-time undergraduate/postgraduate study
  • Available a minimum of 20 hours per month
  • Demonstrated access to and engagement with top campus organizations, with the capacity to build partnerships and support co-branded events and initiatives.
  • Willing to engage in at least a one-year commitment

Performance Expectations

  • Conduct multiple activations per semester to incentivize students to engage in TMCF programs
  • Support TMCF recruiters in the pre-coordination and day-of facilitation of student information sessions, professional development workshops, and/or faculty presentations on your campus
  • Engage students, faculty, and administrators through events and activities that align with the TMCF brand and its mission
  • Identify and actively introduce TMCF to influential campus groups and student leaders
  • Increase campus penetration through personal social media platforms, on-campus marketing activations, and mobile app downloads
  • Accurately complete and submit reports in a timely manner; participate in mandatory monthly online trainings and conference calls; and successfully complete the YA Immersion Program
  • Ambassadors who consistently meet or exceed performance expectations, maintain professionalism, and remain in good academic standing may be considered for the opportunity to attend the annual TMCF Leadership Institute and training. Participation is not guaranteed and is contingent upon overall program performance and leadership evaluation.

Eligibility Requirements

TMCF seeks a highly motivated student who:

  • Has a full-time enrollment status at one of TMCF’s member schools
  • Interested in pursuing a career in marketing, communications, PR, business, or a related field
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Proven ability to connect students with meaningful brand experiences
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Is knowledgeable about social media and its use to drive awareness, foster audience interest, grow an active digital community
  • Is creative and curious
  • Exhibits a fierce work ethic and is driven to exceed expectations and overcome barriers
  • Is willing to use personal social media channels to post on behalf of TMCF
  • Is able to work nights and weekends, if needed
  • Is capable of lifting at least 50 lbs
