Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s The Pitch to take place on the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University campus

March 2, 2026

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) will host The Pitch at member school North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s (NC A&T) campus on March 19-21.

The Pitch is a place-based learning experience packed into a four-day immersive challenge designed to equip students from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with the technical, creative and business skills needed to excel in emerging technology fields.

Participants gain exposure to intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial skills development, take part in innovation workshops and engage in hands-on product development. The culminating event during The Pitch is a high-impact pitch competition with scholarships and prizes on the line.

“The Pitch is a unique opportunity for our students,” Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of TMCF, said. “This experience has been crafted to be best in class and provides mentorship, industry exposure and practical startup experience as they skill up for a meaningful career.”

The Pitch is built around the pillars of intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial mindset; design thinking and problem solving; business fundamentals; technology and artificial intelligence as a thought partner; team dynamics and leadership; and professional and executive presence. The program also incorporates the importance of student development and well being.

Once the event concludes, participants remain part of a network and are invited to reflect on the experience and stay in contact.

“NC A&T is a first-class host and we’re thankful and excited to present The Pitch on its historic campus,” Dr. Williams said. “Not only do our students get to experience all the program has to offer, but they also get to experience another HBCU campus in the process.”
