Thurgood Marshall College Fund president to speak at the Braven Summit

September 6, 2025

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) president & CEO will lend his expertise during a session at this year’s Braven Summit at San Jose State University.

Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of TMCF, will participate in a breakout session titled “Innovation in Higher Ed: An Increased Focus on Career Readiness.” He’ll join Dr. Ashley Finley (AAC&U) and Dr. Kimberly Sluis (Strada Education Foundation) in a discussion about initiatives colleges and universities are implementing to ensure their students achieve economic success after college.

“I’m honored to join my esteemed colleagues to discuss an issue we think about every day at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund,” Dr. Williams said. “It’s imperative that our students and institutions are focused on career readiness, something deeply ingrained in the mission of our organization and put to practice through initiatives like Leadership Institute and the Workforce Development Summit, among many others.”

Braven’s mission is in alignment with TMCF. They strive to empower college students by equipping them with skills, networks, experiences, and confidence to secure strong first jobs.

The summit takes place Sept. 19 in the heart of Silicon Valley.
