Scholarship Overview:

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Wells Fargo are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include 57 publicly supported historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), historically Black community colleges (HBCCs), predominantly Black institutions (PBIs), medical and law schools. Forty (40) scholars will be selected to receive a fall emergency gap scholarship of up to $1,000 for the 2026-2027 academic year. Selected students must be in good academic standing but at risk of not returning or graduating from college due to an outstanding financial need, and/or emergency situation that leads to a financial-aid

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at a TMCF member school during the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher
  • Must have the 2026-2027 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection
  • Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

  • Create a 2-minute video responding to the following: Tell us about your current financial situation. Why is it important that you receive this funding?

Application Dates:

This application opens June 1, 2026, and closes December 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time).

Additional Information:

The eligible total amount will be funded in one disbursement for the 2026-2027 academic year, based on the conditions outlined in the scholar’s contract.
