Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) President & CEO Dr. Harry L. Williams appeared on CNN Newsroom Sunday, Oct. 20 during an interview with Fredricka Whitfield.

Dr. Williams discussed TMCF’s voter advocacy campaign geared toward students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs); the impact HBCUs have had on American history; and what students are saying about issues that interest them.

“It’s an honor to weigh in about this historic election on the national stage,” Dr. Williams said. “We encourage our students to participate in the election process and recognize the power of their voice and their vote.”

Dr. Williams emphasized the importance of TMCF leading the way in helping educate HBCU students about the voting process.

“HBCUs have played a critical role in helping this country move forward,” Dr. Williams said. “Therefore our responsibility at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund is to continue that legacy of pushing, educating and encouraging our students.”
