Washington, DC—The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is pleased to serve as a cosponsor of Delaware State University’s Center for Global Africa’s 2nd Annual Pan-African Development Conference.
“This conference represents our ongoing commitment to the Center’s great work in building a community of learning as a foundation for the continued economic development of Africa and the Diaspora,” said Dr. Harry L. Williams, President & CEO of TMCF and former president of Delaware State University.
Professor Ezrah Aharone, founding director of the Center, praised the collaboration between TMCF and Delaware State University.
“We are exceedingly grateful for TMCF’s support of our 2nd Pan-African Development Conference on November 12-14, 2020,” said Aharone. “This conference is supported by DSU’s mission to empower the people and build a more economically vibrant Africa and the Diaspora.”
The conference is also cosponsored by Professor Eddy Maloka, CEO of “African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM)” of the African Union. Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone, will be the keynote speaker, complemented by congressional leaders and other stakeholders who will discuss trade and commerce, agricultural sustainability and youth development among other issues. This year’s convening is interested in engaging students in building a more Afro-centric academic and professional portfolio.
As the world grapples with massive disruptions at every level of the economy, the Center brings progressive voices together to tackle strategic issues that will prompt new policies and programs toward a richer, more vibrant and inclusive vision of the Africa-Diaspora.
