Theodore (Ted) Colbert, CIO of The Boeing Company, won the Digital Innovation Award at the ITSMF Technology Achievement ceremony on Friday in Atlanta, GA.
Colbert was a Cyber Visionary Trailblazer Award winner at the BEYA STEM Conference in 2010 and 2012.

ITSMF Awards pay tribute to industry leaders who have made contributions to the advancement of technology while demonstrating leadership in advancing diversity. The awards salute not only business and technical achievements of distinguished leaders but also their impact in creating opportunities for the success of future Black leaders.
Colbert earned a dual degree in engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Morehouse College, majoring in industrial and systems engineering as well as an interdisciplinary science. Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for The Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
Colbert joined Boeing in 2009, providing the connectivity infrastructure enabling internal Boeing applications and systems to pass data from point to point throughout the company. Since then he has served as vice president of IT Business Systems and became CIO in 2013. He is also senior vice president of Information Technology & Data Analytics at The Boeing Company.
Colbert is a member of the Boeing Executive Council and is responsible for more than 6,500 IT and analytics employees of the world’s largest aerospace company.
Before joining Citigroup, Colbert spent 11 years with Ford Motor Company’s Information Technology organization. During his tenure with Ford, he championed and led campus recruiting, career development, and community service projects.
Other award recipients at the ITSMF ceremony include Yvette Pegues, Dr. Paul Judge, and Shari Slate (photo inset), chief inclusion and collaboration officer at Cisco. Most recently, she was named a 2018 Top Executive in Corporate Diversity by Black Enterprise, and a 2017 Diversity Leader by Profiles in Diversity Journal.
