July 22, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC (September 10, 2018) – The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) announced $3,302,085.78 has been awarded, to date, to deserving students attending a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) or a Primarily Black Institution (PBI) from January 2018 to September 2018.

Since the founding of TMCF in 1987 more than $300M has been raised to support the nearly 300,000 students attending their member-schools all over the United States. As a higher education non-profit, TMCF is committed to being a good steward of every dollar that is donated. To that end, TMCF is registered with every charitable regulatory agency in every required state and has been given the highest ratings from all three non-profit rating groups. Additionally, TMCF distributes 98% of its awards exclusively to HBCUs and PBIs, which is more than any other organization that supports the Black College Community.

“These are real dollars helping real students that are working hard every day to achieve their dreams of earning a college education,” said Dr. Harry L. Williams, TMCF president & CEO. “We thank every single partner and donor, large and small, that invests in TMCF because without each and every one of them, we would have not been able to give out over three million dollars in scholarships since January, with more to come by year’s end.”
