Job Description
Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is the nation’s largest organization exclusively representing the black college community. TMCF member-schools include the publicly supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and several Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). The Director, Impact Initiatives at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) will be responsible for leading fundraising events to align with overall development engagement efforts that drive the organization’s mission forward. This role will focus on the strategic execution of major gift giving as part of executing strategic fundraising events, incorporating data driven decisions and effective prospect research into the cultivation of individual donors, and supporting fundraising engagement for the TMCF Board of Directors. The Director will play a critical role in strategic project management between multiple divisions, including the Office of the President, Development, Finance, Marketing and Programs, ensuring effective collaboration and the success of TMCF’s initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans and measurable data tracking, in alignment with the overall fundraising trajectory and organizational mission and objectives.
- Strategically lead all aspects of assigned fundraising events with a focus on major gift giving and board engagement.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop fundraising partnerships that enhance TMCF’s impact.
- Craft compelling narratives and communications that articulate the organization’s impact and inspire donors, using both written and verbal communication skills.
- Leverage professional networks to increase visibility and outreach for TMCF and its initiatives
- Follow best practices in fundraising, donor relations, major gifts and event management.

Required Competencies and Qualifications:
- Master’s preferred, Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year’s experience in fundraising.
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred.
- Experience in non-profit or higher education fundraising with proven success in major gift giving of $25,000 and above.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-profile donor relationships on governing or advisory boards.
- Experience planning and executing high-impact fundraising campaigns.
- Strong networking skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals and foundations.
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Givesmart, and Hubspot or other equivalent CRM platforms.
- Strategic thinker with long-term planning and multi-year fundraising alignment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Well-connected within philanthropy sector, including family foundations, DAFs, and corporate foundations.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage projects effectively.
- Skilled in multitasking, managing priorities, and thriving in fast-paced environments.
- Results-driven with strong goal achievement focus and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong passion for TMCF’s mission.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated with a track record of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on execution

- Salary: $75,000 – $91,000 – Commensurate with experience, up to 10% Bonus Potential
