The award-winning Leadership Institute, is a national program intended to develop students’ leadership skills, create a community of scholars, provide companies access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers.
This premier leadership development conference brings together carefully selected students from the 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This power-packed four-day conference prepares students to compete in today’s very competitive global workforce. The conference culminates in a recruitment fair where Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and graduate program representatives offer jobs, internships and continuing education opportunities.
The Leadership Institute seeks to:
Expose students to employment and leadership development opportunities
Develop, challenge, and engage student leaders so they are prepared for internship and job opportunities
Develop leadership skills through challenging and informative workshops Inspire student success through exposure to top executive role models
Provide a forum that will give students access to top employers and employers access to top students
Students who are invited to attend the Leadership Institute:
Are Juniors, Seniors, Graduate or Law Students (strong sophomores are considered)
Possess a Minimum of a 3.25 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
Demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Access To Highly Qualified Diverse Talent
Recruiters have an opportunity to interact face-to-face with 350 diverse and highly qualified students from a variety of majors, including STEM, business, and finance.
Access to the Exclusive Student Talent Database
Corporate and government recruiters are given access to the Student Talent Resume Database consisting of the 500 Leadership Institute student leaders in advance of the conference, to identify candidates for internships and full-time employment.
Brand Development and Exposure
Employers and partner organizations receive brand exposure to the targeted student population via workshops, networking events and conference promotional materials, including digital and print. Additional brand activation opportunities are available.
