Named one of the “40 Under 40” by Connect Magazine in its 2013 class of influential leaders in the meeting planning/marketing industry, Jamaal O. Bailey has become a role model for all of those who work at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF). Joining TMCF as Director of Conferences and Special Events in January 2008, his team approach and dedication to the organization’s mission and vision earned him the promotion to Vice President of Marketing in June 2011. As TMCF’s Chief Marketing Officer, he is responsible for managing and driving the TMCF brand and effectively integrating messaging as well as services to all of the organization’s constituents. He is a member of TMCF Executive Team, TMCF’s senior governing body. Bailey’s interest in marketing and events started at an early age when he planned and promoted social events for friends and family. Before turning marketing and event planning from a hobby into a profession, Bailey worked for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as its Deputy Executive Director. Bailey is a highly-motivated, innovative, organized and passionate individual who has served on planning committees for several non-profit and fundraising events in New York. In March of 2011, he started his own business, Aesthetic Event Management Group, which is a full-service event management agency in the New York City area. Bailey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia State University (a TMCF member-school) and a Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Baltimore. His educational pursuits would lead one to think that he would be in a different field, however, his passion for marketing and events prevailed. Bailey has embraced the challenge to make the Thurgood Marshall College Fund “better” and “better known.” As he meets and exceeds this challenge, his imprint will be forever imbedded in the stone that is now the foundation for TMCF.
